Expecting London...Atlanta Maternity Photographer

This gorgeous couple has been waiting oh so patiently for me to post their session sneak peaks...thanks so much you guys!!
They were so sweet and so excited for their little one, London, to be born. I just LOVE the name they chose for her...she is going to be a beauty for sure, and I can't wait to meet her. Thanks again for your patience you guys...hope you enjoy your sneak peak!

little boys....

are my favorite!!! These cousins reminded me so much of my boys, especially the faces they made! :) I have been so distracted trying to wrap things up before i go to NY for the week, that i posted this gallery, without even blogging their sneak peak!! I had such a great time with these 2, i hope you love your images!!

Heather & Ryan...expecting. (McDonough, GA maternity photographer)

I had the best time hanging out with Heather and Ryan last week!! They were such a fun and beautiful couple, and so in love....and... going to be the coolest parents, they are naming their baby Cash and he already listens to Bob Marley....destined to be a pretty hip kid. :) I have to say, of all of the subjects I get to photograph, maternity & newborn sessions are my most favorite. I love the intimacy between a mother and father to be, and capturing the love they already have for their newborn to be. And then to document a couple evolving into a family...it truly is the greatest gift, and i am so glad this is what i get to do as a career.

So, apparently i get sappy when i work until 2 a.m.....how about i post some photos???
We started out in their home for the first half of the session, and then finished up in this open field just down the road! i have a ton of favorites, here are a few that i love:

Holiday Session Information!!

I'm offering something a little different this year, due to the high demand for fall sessions and holiday cards! I will be scheduling fall mini-sessions! Whether you need to "freshen up" last year's photos, or to get that great family shot for your holiday cards...this is a great deal for you!
You have the option to book either a children or family portrait session. I am offering only one date for now, but if it fills quickly, I am considering an additional date.
Session time slots are as follows: 3:15, 4:00, 4:45, 5:30 and 6:15.
*times may be adjusted for family sessions.

Information:

What is a mini session? it is a quick portrait session of your children or family!

What is included? Your session fee, a cd of 10 fully edited images (high resolution for personal printing and gift giving!) and a set of 50 custom designed holiday cards. This is an incredible savings....

How much? $450 for up to 2 children, $25 more for each additional child, or $500 for a whole family session (family sessions will last 45 minutes and include 15 images on cd)

Christy and I could not have dreamed up a more perfect wedding day...gorgeous & madly in love couple, sandy beaches, crashing waves, amazingly fun family and friends....! We are so honored to have spent the whole weekend with everyone, capturing everything from the rehearsal in bathing suits and family dogs running around the beach, dancing all night at a reception on the water, to the day after all the fun, shooting some romantic couple shots (while the dj swam in the ocean..don't ask!) I feel like I'm rambling, so i'll cut to the point...we love you guys, we had a blast, and we wish you a life of love and happiness!!

While the girls were getting pretty...the boys were "getting down!" They had a dance off at the reception, and they were very serious about their rehearsal...and we were more than happy to watch them practice..whoo hoo!




This would be the 1st time I cried at the wedding...we cried no less than 4 times throughout the day...this is where Champ vowed to be a loving father to Phalla's girls...it was the sweetest ceremony...tearing up just thinking about it....

Quick post and announcement....and a sweet baby!

Hi there!! Christy and i will both be out of town for the weekend, shooting a destination wedding in Gulf Shores!! We are sooo excited, so check back to see some awesome wedding shots soon!! We will be back in the office Monday morning to return emails and phone calls.....I will also be announcing dates and locations for my fall mini-sessions when we get back!

Sweet Kyra...Atlanta Newborn Photographer

I can not stress enough how much I ADORE newborns! This sweet little girl was perfection...she slept for 2 hours straight as i smooshed, bent and wrapped her up to my hearts content. Her big brother and sister were so adorable too, and they were so great with their new baby sister...i LOVE this sibling shot!!

I've got to cut this short, got to get Noah to bed, he's my night owl....enjoy!!

It's not very often that i get to photograph siblings, so this was a treat!! I've been looking forward to this session since mom booked back in May...i already knew that they were adorable, and such a pleasure to work with from the first time i photographed them...If you remember the balloon silhouette shot, these 2 are the stars of that image. I'm sure you will see more of their cute little faces all over my website in the next couple of weeks! :)
Seriously, i know that i say this alot, but i could NOT choose a favorite. So, you get to see a lot of pics this post. There are so many more great shots, and like 3 more outfit changes! can't wait for mom to see them all!!

something a little different..... (McDonough children's photographer)

As I sit at my desk for the past 8 hours catching up on session edits, I stopped to think about why I love what I do....I truly am inspired by each an every child that i photograph. I really feel privileged, that as my business has matured, i have gotten to know my clients on more of a personal level, and watched some of my now favorite little people grow up. This is only the second time I've photographed "T", and although he gave me a run for my money, i enjoyed every minute of it! And the best part is when i get to go through my images and see the real moments of his personality on my film.

We shot at 2 locations, one of them being their pool, which I loved!! I've never photographed a session like this, but it was something I really enjoyed and will be offering in the future. These sessions will be more editorial/photojournalistic and probably all black and white; i will act as an outsider looking in as your child(ren) play together, jump rope, build a sandcastle, make a fort in their bedroom, etc. I will have more details about these sessions in the coming weeks...

"Be a man!" Jayden (Christy's son-3) told Jack (my son-5) today as he cried about his lost swimmies on the way to the pool....hilarious!! Well, he manned up and then we begged the 2 manly men to pose for a quick shot for us....2 copies of this are gonna' be printed huge!! one for Christy's house and one for mine....nothin' cuter than best friends!

Let me just start this post by saying sick kids stink!! My entire family has progressively gotten sick starting w/ Jack who is such a baby when he has a cold (hmmm, wonder where he got THAT from???) then me and Noah and finally Dan. This freakin' cold has made my last week a nightmare....Noah's totally off his nap schedule, and my house is a wreck!! And if you know me at all, I can NOT think if my house is messy. Anyway, nothin' like some ADORABLE pics to cheer me up...i finally had a chance to sit down and pick out a few of my faves...mom's been waiting so patiently for a sneak peak. I have photographed this little miss at least 4 times in the past couple of years, and i just love her like my own...she is one of the cutest/brightest little girls you will ever meet!!

Christy and I took her kiddos out last night for a little impromptu session....I haven't finished sorting through all of the images, but this one immediately jumped out at me. I always get great shots of Kyla, but we rarely shoot Jayden, as a matter of fact, most of you readers may not even know Christy has 2 kids. Well, she does! so let's give a nice warm welcome to Jayden on his paperlily kids blog debut! Is he not the cutest!?!?

I meant to post this image of my neices a few weeks ago, but the session got away from me and i was onto the next client...that's what happens to my family shots. If you knew these little "chickens" as i like to call them, they are equal parts of tom boy and fairy princess, and they're always on a mission...i love everything about this image, from the tall grass to there little determined expressions....

Noah....6 months old.

A quick snap of my little man!! He just turned 6 months this past Monday, and is officially a crawler! He's into everything, the dog bowl, Jack's legos, the wires under my desk, everywhere!! I don't know if it's the water or the hormones or what these days, but he's already pulling up to standing, too. As i type this he is standing up looking out the window of my office.....anywho. Just wanted to give that little update, and share a pic of my man.... Happy Weekend! :)

ok, so as my son so often says "it's never too late to say you're sorry," sorry guys!! It's literally been a whirlwind since we shot this wedding, and ummmm, 6 weeks later, i'm finally getting around to blogging it. Hopefully it's been worth the wait!!

We LOVE this couple!! So much that we took them out for a post wedding session as well to grab a few more couple shots...it rained on their wedding day, so we didn't get to do as many fun things as we had hoped. but we made up for it.....here are a few shots, and i will post more in the morning...gotta catch up on some sleep. :)

urban session and model call.

I found a couple of really cool locations this week and wanted to try them out before i bring any clients there, so Christy and I took Kyla out for a quick session. I really was on a rustic kick there for awhile, but i am just loving these colors and the change of scenery. more to come, I'm taking a gorgeous family out there today!!

Also: I've had an amazing opportunity offered to me, to work with an incredible web design/branding company, to shoot commercially for a couple of new small businesses. I will post the website and more information in about 4 weeks when everything is set up. I will be in need of some models, though.

I've already contacted a few clients regarding this, but if any readers or past clients would be interested in modeling for these shoots, please send me a headshot and phone # or email address.
-I will be compensating you with photos of course, proofs of all the images used as well as reduced pricing on additional prints.
-All participants must be willing to sign a full model release, as these images will be used for advertising.
-I am looking for boys and girls between the ages of 1-7.
-You would have to be willing to participate at least once every 2 months, once a month preferably.
-All sessions will take place in Henry County, and last about 15-20 minutes.

I'm giving away 2 complimentary newborn sessions!!! I'm looking to expand my newborn portfolio with some new ideas that i've been working up. If you are pregnant or know someone who is due in the next few weeks, please contact me. i am looking for 2 newborn models, must be willing to have the session in their home or at approved location within the first 7 days of arrival. 10 session images will be given to each client, and additional prints will be offered at discounted pricing. Of course a full model release is required, as with all sessions and you must willing to give me creative reign of the shoot. no babies will be harmed in this process... :)

My girls....

I just love them!! These are my "neices", really second cousins, but their moms are more like my sisters than cousins. We attempted a real live session with all 3 of them in the midday 85 degree weather. We were regretting it about 10 minutes in when everyone's bangs started sticking to their faces, and I stepped in an ant hill.

Anyway, we did still manage to get a ton of great shots....here are a few of my favorites. I've been diggin' this vintagey black and white look lately, i hope you do too.

Miss "O"...

I always have a clear cut idea of what I want to accomplish at a session, i guess it's the planner in me. And every session I am reminded that I'm working with children, who always have a plan of their own. :) That's the beauty of photographing children though, capturing the essence of who they are, carefree and playful, and always on the go. This little 1 year old kept her parents and I on the run, but occasionally she stopped, and I would quickly snap and capture one of these great moments...

It was such a pleasure working with this beautiful family...I hope you guys enjoy!!

Noah....5 months old.

I can't believe he's already 5 months old!! It flew by so quickly, yet I can't remember what's it's like without him. It's so amazing how a family can grow, and it's so natural how you all fit together. How 'bout that for some pre-coffee poetry?? :)

Three little cuties...in Matilda Jane.

I am a sucker for Matilda Jane clothes, and mom went all out for this session. If i had a little girl, i would buy the whole collection. But until that day comes, i get to live vicariously through my clients. This was technically my first "children's session" (i've had a ton of newborns lately) of the new year and it was a whirlwind. These 3 girlies were little balls of energy and chatter and it was pretty funny trying to keep up with all of them, they gave me a good workout!! Best of all, I couldn't be happier with their images... one of my favorite sessions to date. ( i know i say that a lot, but it's true!!)

6 going on 16.....

Can you believe this little beauty is only 6 years old! For those of you who don't know, this is my business partner's daughter. Christy ran out to pick up dinner last night for and i took Kyla out in my front yard to snap a few pics of her in her cute new dress. I ended up finding some great light and got a couple of gorgeous shots....

So, editing is a bit harder to get accomplished when you have a newborn. I've mastered the art of one handed computer work...the mouse is no problem, but typing...that's when the real skills kick in. I kind of lean back so the baby doesn't slide off of my chest and then type on an angle looking over the top of his head. :)

Needless to say, that is what took me so long to get this sneak peak up. I'm frantically typing this while Noah's napping on the couch behind me. It'll get better, I promise....we just crossed the 8 week line, so I'm sure a set nap schedule is just around the corner!! (fingers crossed)

So, it was my first day back on the job since Noah has been born...and I had the pleasure of photographing this adorable little munchkin, Maddux. I normally don't post all of my favorites from a session, but these were just too sweet not to share.

Noah's first portrait session.....and Happy New Year! (atlanta newborn photographer)

Family update: Noah is 11 days old now. I'm feeling really great, too. Jack is the BEST big brother ever!! He is sooo helpful and concerned and nurturing. I couldn't have wished for a better kid, seriously. Dan just went back to work officially, and we miss him already. If you know my husband at all, he acts pretty tough, but when these babies pop out, he is a totally different man...he truly loves being a dad. Woops...just blew your cover, babe! Love you lots!

Since I'm not taking clients right now (not that anyone really wants pics in the cold anyway.) you'll be getting a Noah and Jack overload for the next couple of months.

So I set up a mini studio in Jack's playroom and did a little shoot with Noah (and Dan as my blanket holder.) These are your basic bean bag shots...still have to get to the creative stuff with the props, and some of the boys together. Here are a few of my favorites....

Christy & Blake....family session. (and other obsessions)

well, technically I am on maternity leave.....but if you know me at all, I'm really not one to relax and take it easy. Although, I have to cheesily admit, that like so many of my photog friends out there (you know who you are...wink wink) i have been sucked into the Twilight Book series. Which has consequently forced me to sit down for looooong periods of time. Like 7 hours last night, while i finished the 3rd book. It's a sickness. :)

Anyway, these are my good friends Christy and Blake. You may remember them from an engagement session i posted a couple of months ago. They are getting married in less than 2 weeks by the way! Hopefully i make it until then....waddling to the reception. ha!

And these are their impromptu family session pics....i swear, everytime i photograph them or the kiddos, it's a last minute thing, and we're all running around. This time and the engagement session happened to be raining. But we just roll with it because it's so hard to coordinate all of our schedules. I tell you what, though....the photos are always such a pleasant surprise...some of my favorites actually. It just goes to show that if you relax, and go with the flow, the result is the same if not better than if you stressed and planned all week for your portrait session. Kids will be kids....and those are the images we should want to remember. Our kids, just being themselves.

Fall family session.....

So sorry about the long wait for a sneak peak! I caught a cold and have gotten a little behind on things. I'm sporting some wool socks, a huge blanket and a vicks covered nose as i sit in front of the computer and try to catch up.
This family was so adorable....due to freezing cold weather conditions, this is only half of the session....we decided to thaw out and do an indoor shoot (to come soon.)

I loved the colors of the leaves this day, and their outfits matched perfectly with the foliage.....still got a quite a few great shots despite the cold. Enjoy! :)

I love maternity sessions...there is just nothing more beautiful and natural to capture. An expecting mother with all her hopes and dreams and love for this little unborn gift. And to capture the relationship of the parents, so sweet and pure. My favorite!

what's that word again? sleep?

so as you all know, I am about 35 weeks pregnant, and still going. :) I'm starting the countdown, though. Only 3 sessions left to go and I am officially on maternity leave! Can not wait to actually start acting like a pregnant person and take a (what's that called again?) nap!!

Anyway, that's just the exhaustion talking... :)

I do have to say, that I have been putting myself to bed every night by 10, but last night I started going through this session's images and I could NOT stop! i was up until 1 a.m., which was nothin' back in the day, but lately 1 a.m. has not seen me in quite some time.

This little miss has got to be one of my favorite subjects, though. She is 2 going on 30. Such a talker and so happy to change her clothes a hundred times, without a complaint. at one point in the session she asked "Brooke? Can you do me a favor?" "can you hold my water for a second so I can eat?" Too cute!! can you do me a favor? :)

Halloween's over...time for Christmas! (family session)

These are my good friend Meg's kiddos...so cute and so much fun. I've photographed them quite a few times over the past year, and it's been such a pleasure watching them change and grow.

Aaaaarrrrrgggggh!

Jack dressed up like Jack Sparrow last night...too cute! And my neighbors decorated their yard like a pirate's cove, so it was the perfect backdrop! i wish i had a wider shot, but oh well....just had to share my cute man. :)

"in love...."

This adorable couple just recently got engaged right in Centennial Park, so what better place to shoot their engagement session. They were troopers, too! Christy and I were practically popsicles, but they were struttin' around in their t-shirts like it was no problem. Maybe we're just not as tough as we thought! :)
But regardless of the cold, we had a great time with you two! You are a such a great couple and we wish you nothing but the best! Hope you enjoy your pics....

Fall Family Sessions....

This has been our first official Paperlily Family Session...and it was so much fun! I mean, you really can't get a better looking group of people, so they definitely made our job a little easier. :) It's really rewarding and such a pleasure to work with families and capture the real moments between them. Kids grow and change so quickly, it is so important to take time out and preserve these special times. To be able to look back at these images in the future is priceless! Enjoy!

We scheduled a re-shoot of this little man.....and I am so glad we did!! I was inspired by the "organic line" of clothes at BabyGap. Here are a couple of my favorites from his session yesterday.

blog neglect...my apologies. :)

so....i don't know if i have any blog readers left after this loooooong spurt of blog neglect, but if you're out there, I'm still alive and all is well. I'm about 6 1/2 months pregnant, and unlike my first pregnancy, I am completely EXHAUSTED. My little guy, Jack, just started his very first year of school, which is getting me up very early, against all my natural instincts... :)

So, just some big changes happening, that have taken priority over my regular blog posting. Forgive me.

I spent the afternoon with my nieces and took a few shots...here is one of my faves. I promise not to let so much time go by again.....

So, I'm sorry I've abandoned this blog for the past month. A lot has been happening...trying to get ready for the holiday sessions, believe it or not (only 5 spots remaining) and recovering from our trip to NY, which was a blast! Jack was so into everything...we went to the Museum of Natural History, Central Park Zoo, first time at the beach! And most importantly, spending time with our family and my 2 best friends. Then we had 4 days to unpack and get ready for Jack's 1st day of school...!

We also found out that we are having another boy, due December 20th!!

I am also working on adding a ton of new products for my clients, so keep checking back on the blog...new custom framing, gorgeous session albums, holiday cards and christmas ornaments....I will post photos of all of the new products in the coming weeks.

Don't forget about the holiday family sessions...only 5 spots remaining, and these are the only sessions that we will offer our Holiday cards!!

Fall 2008 Price Increase....

Sessions booked after August 1st will be subject to our increased session prices. Children's session fee will increase from $100 to $125 (up to 2 children, $25 each additional child.)

Yesterday evening, I met the most lovely couple, Phyllis & Robert. They are expecting their first baby....who I just can't wait to meet now! We had a great time at the shoot...and I just can't narrow down my favorites at all!! They are all so beautiful! But here are just a few of my faves...hope you like them!! "three little birds..."

Here's a little sneak peak of these kiddos' session. First time shooting 3 kids all at once, and boy am I pooped today!! They were so much fun, though. Non-stop action....I had a great time with you guys...hope you enjoy the preview!! -B

my little man turns 4...

I realized it's been awhile since I've had a shoot with my son...so we had a little turning 4 session. He just had his birthday on the 12th, so what better time to do his pics...
so after a little negotiating...mini session for 1 transformer, we had our shoot. We used this very cool and very boyish row of empty truck beds that we found and it turned out to be great. we had to jump over a huge hole to get to this spot, which was really fun for Jack (not so much his pregnant mom! ;)
And i got eaten alive by fire ants...but other than that, i would say it was a success...so here's my little man, getting so big. I love you buddy!! LOVE the first image, getting it big for my house for sure!!

Christy & Blake...engaged!!

My very dear friend, Christy, re-united with an old high-school flame...and apparently the fire was still there, because they decided to get married!! I am soooo happy for them! There isn't a cuter couple...These 2 aren't getting hitched until next year, but we thought it would be fun to do an engagement session, now...we had a little rain detour, but other than that, we had a great time!!

Kayce & Bryan got married!!

You may remember the fun retro engagement session we did with these 2 back in October...and this past Saturday we had the pleasure of shooting their wedding. Aside from the unseasonably HOT day we happened to have, the wedding was just beautiful. I know they are off in Mexico having the best time, I'm sure, but for all the wedding guests that have been asking for a sneak peak...here you are. So, today was such an "awesome" day! I got to hang out with miss Collier, and let me just tell you, she is the next big thing...she was like a little firecracker. It may have something to do with the fact that they are always into something messy whenever I get my camera out, i.e. eating wood chips, rolling in the dirt, playing in the doghouse? and in this case...sitting in the dirty pool with her clothes on...

Ally and Jeff...

I had the pleasure of working with this beautiful couple in their home this weekend.....they are expecting their first baby (so stay tuned for the newborn session in July...)

Mr. "W" and his mom....

It seems like every time Christy and I venture out to the orchard, a storm is brewing. We almost had to break out our very high-tech water-proofing system (a.k.a. diapers) to shield our equipment from the rain, but we made it! This little man was a trooper, just a week out of his tonsils being removed and he braved the weather and mine and Christy's terrible jokes...to have these pics made. And check out this shot of his gorgeous mom...Christy's shot of her is just stunning! I hope you guys had a good time, and i know that your hubby is going to love his Father's day surprise....it was so nice to meet you two!

Christy and I had such a great time this week w/ this couple...Vanessa is a good friend of mine who is tying the knot this July! I was so honored to be able to document she and Adam's engagement for them...and they were so brave, climbing into junk piles and balancing on railroad tracks...just so you know...It was soooo worth it! We got some amazing shots!!! Can't wait to show you the rest...thanks again, you guys! Big hugs! :)

Masking tape and Walker, Texas Ranger....

things you might want if you were stranded on an island??? maybe...but more importantly..things I discussed at today's session. :)

I had such a great time w/ these two spunky kids...mom brought some masking tape, just in case something may need taping...like my pants if they were falling down while I was running, or to double as a hair-clip, or many other crazy last minute things that one would use masking tape for...hee hee!

and Walker, Texas Ranger, well you just CAN'T get enough of him, right??? Especially not if your name is Stephen ;) Well, I'm sure none of this makes any sense to the casual blog reader, but it will be very humorous to the wonderful people I photographed today! Thanks sooo much you guys! I had such a great time with you today, I hope you did, too!! I couldn't resist posting a few, there are soooo many photos that I love, already...hope you enjoy!

and mr. alex....

this little pumpkin wasn't exactly a newborn...he was almost 2 months old when these were taken, so i got to get some awake photos which was a refreshing change :) I have to say, Alex is in the running for the cutest little baby ever; perfect complexion, big eyes, love it! I just wanted to squish 'em up...until he peed all over my blankets...;) Just kidding, he's still the cutest! A baby session wouldn't be complete without a wet blanket, ha!
Sorry it took me so long to post a preview, but Jack (my son) has been really under the weather...and he's finally coming out of it after 6 loooong days....all you parents know what I mean. :) Enjoy the rest of the weekend...hopefully next week will bring blue skies and warmer weather. -B

Newborns are so precious...they are just little bundles of sweetness! Two beauties....

I know i've been a little behind on my blogging...i've been suffering from photography overload. Good news travels fast, i guess. I am sooo thankful to have such great friends and clients spreading the word about how much they love their photos. ohhhh...the orchard is blooming!

So, Christy and I braved the weather yesterday, to go and shoot in the orchard. It was sooo worth it! When the rain cleared and the sun came through the storm clouds it was just breathtaking. We were shooting our "Spring Issue" for our senior site, launching soon, and captured this beautiful image of Tess. I will be posting more soon, but I just had to share this one for now.

I met miss Layla just yesterday and she was such a little beauty. Layla, like all of my recent newborn sessions, though, had her own agenda. It's like I have some power that keeps newborns wide awake. They sleep for days on end, but when I show up it's the day they become interested in the world around them. :) But, when i did get her to finally fall asleep, she was a perfect little angel. I got so many beautiful shots. Here are a couple to hold mom and dad over until next week...it was so great to finally meet you two! Enjoy!

Today I had the pleasure of meeting the brand new and oh-so-adorable miss Chloe. She has those cheeks that you just want to squish all day. And lucky she was cute, because she had her own agenda today. She was too interested in the camera to sleep. We would get her all cozy and sleepy and one click of the camera and she would perk right up. Totally fine with me, though, I had a great time and got some beautiful photos. I first met her parents last year to photograph their maternity session, and it is so great to now see them as parents. They were so natural and laid back, too. You would never know that this was their first child. Thanks you two for allowing me to be a part of this beautiful new chapter of your lives....enjoy!

something new...

I spent an exhausting day at the park with my nieces and forgot to post about the day. I don't know what I was thinking, taking 1 year old twins, my 3 year old son, my mother's little dog and 2 dads. Perhaps I was trying to block that day out of my memory...between Jack crying because he wasn't in the picture, and the 4 pound dog barking at everybody that came within 100 ft. of us...and just one woman (me) for all of that chaos. Needless to say I was wiped out. We also picked out the cutest little outfits, but it ended up being way too cold to wear them without a jacket. We got some keepers though, mostly with the big pink jackets... :) They're still the cutest little babies ever!

So unlike my last newborn session who slept like a log...mr. man today was WIDE awake. Look at these eyes...too stinkin' cute!!!

my guy...

Me and my little man found a great new location today...an amazing peach orchard with blackberry vines and old barns all over. This place is going to be fabulous in the spring when all the trees are in bloom. I had to bribe him with a Transformer to stand still for these few shots...isn't he the cutest with his goofy hair all stickin' up? I can't believe how big he's getting...he'll be 4 in June.

something new...

We've been experimenting...and new for 2008 Paperlily Kids and Seniors, we will be offering "outdoor, studio sessions." Bringing the studio to the outdoors. We still want to let your children enjoy the beauty of the natural locations, but we're incorporating some cool backdrops as well...here are a few sneak peaks of what's to come. And a big thank you to Christy's daughter Kyla for being such a great little model.

In between all these rainy Georgia days, we had one perfect day...60 degrees, partly cloudy and 2 awesome kids! Meet Ms. "L" and Mr. "W", they were such great, happy kids, and a pleasure to work with. I put this baby in anything I could find and he was such a trooper...in a bucket, a suitcase, & a wagon... hope everyone had a great holiday! Happy New Year! Enjoy...

Tonight I had a frosty outdoor session with one of my best friend's little sisters. I had such a lovely visit in New York this past week, and the best part was finally getting to meet this little squishy! One of my best friends in the world just had her first baby and I had the honor of taking her very first "portrait"...here are just a few of the many photos I will be posting of my new favorite girl! I am off to New York in about 6 hours, but I promised to post a few of today's session...miss "A" had more than enough clothing to choose from, but she was most happy in her little white underwear and her cowboy boots! There are so many cute shots, I could barely narrow them down. I had such a great time, today...hope you enjoy!

a boy and his {grandma's} dog...

Jack has been relentless about having my mom's dog spend the night at our house...this was his first real sleepover! With a dog? So we packed her up and she cried the whole ride to my house, and barked all night long at my giant dogs, and slept in my bed...fun for all! But Jack loved every second of it, and is already trying to set up the next sleepover...we'll see.

1. I have registered for college 6 times and dropped out. ( a bit of a commitment issue, I guess)
2. I can sing...used to sing solos in church, now I just sing in the car :)
3. Once I sang/recorded the chorus on a rap album...crazy, and no, I won't let you hear it!
4. I quit my job as a waitress after 1 too many bad tips and packed my Jeep up and moved to NY for 3 years.
5. I will tell you anything if you ask me, I don't really keep any secrets.
6. When I make a PB & J sandwich, I dip the knife in the PB jar and then dip it in the jelly and lick it all off together.
7. I am an excellent parallel parker. (except last week, I totally bumped the car behind me when I was backing out...)
8. My first musical purchase was a Joey Lawrence tape. oh yeah, he made an album...he had a very short lived singing career, but he was so hot!

I had the pleasure of working with these 2 cuties yesterday... they were too funny! The boys ended up having the tea party, and poor "A" was fighting off the sniffles. But give that girl a giant lollipop, and she is good to go! unstaged cuteness....

I was getting ready to send this session to the "archives" but I came across this photo that I love. My 1yr old neice is in the middle, and at the time, she was just starting to walk. On the right is her big cousin (my son, 3yrs old) coming to lend her a hand, and on her left is my friend's little girl (4) who ran over to help too. How sweet is that...the best part is that it was totally unstaged, I just happened to have my camera, thank goodness, or i would've missed it! :)

As our children grow older it's easy to forget the little sweet moments. We get caught up in their NEW expressions and milestones. If there is a story to tell, I like to present a sequence of images from a child's session to freeze that little moment of innocence and personality for the parent to always be able to look back on. These moments are what inspire me to be a photographer...
